Grand Designs Swimming Pond

We were consulted to line a 26 x 20 x 1.5m deep wildlife pond for a future “Grand Designs” project. After much discussion on the client and future use of the property, we recommended a conversion to a swimming pond, using non-filtration re-circulation technology to warm and cleanse the pond. Working alongside the builders’ Landscape Architect, we then developed these plans before winning the contract.

Our first visit was to line the pond using our flexible, lifetime warranty, repairable EPDM PondGard membrane. The clients’ builder then installed the equipment for the swimming side of the pond, top-dressing with pebbles, cobbles and rock. We then returned with nearly 500 plants as phase 1 (autumn) planting of the pond and a Spring ’22 visit for the final planting with Spring planting.

Mark re-visited in August 2024 and wow, what a transformation. A beautiful area of tranquillity as the pond has matured.
